Tournament Bowling Only: What is your Aresenal?

You are going to a Tournament what is in the bag or in this case bags:

If you can be specific please include Surface, Layout, and reason for the ball.

The problem with your question is each bowler is different depending on their style and needs. Lower rev bowlers usually need some more aggressive equipment while higher revs can focus more on control. Guys in the middle should go with more of what they feel comfortable with.

For me being a guy in the middle of the revs and speed category, I like:

Strong asymmetric drilled aggressively with 1000/2000 surface (Alpha Crux, Warrior Elite, Paradox)

Strong symmetric core with solid or hybrid cover drilled to have decent backend while using surface to control like 2000 (Revolt Havoc, Adrenaline Shot, HayWire)

Low Flare core with an early layout plus surface of 2000/3000 essentially my benchmark ball (Brute Strength, IQ Tour, Gamebreaker 2)

Ball to move in with and create angle or another low flare core drilled for more length and maybe polished.

Weaker reactive for burn like Rhino, Ride, Viral, Match

Urethane

Pretty dependent on lane surface and pattern....my PBAx bag varies quite a bit every 2 weeks.

Lane Surface has that much of an impact on your decision? Would you like to give an example of Same Oil Pattern but different Lane Surface (What balls would you switch out or would it be everything)

Certainly.  There is 1 center here that has very low friction Brunswick synthetic lanes and they play SLICK!!  Cheetah for example......I am definitely going to use stronger equipment with some surface to bleed off some energy so my ball won't go completely sideways off the spot.  There is another center that is much older (ancient really) wood that is HIGH FRICTION.  Since the heads break down much faster in this center I will throw equipment that can get down-lane when that is a priority.

So I think in the lower friction center (on Cheetah as the example) I'll bring out my IQ 30 with some surface and possibly my Eternal Cell (rolly stuff).  In the high friction wood center I like stuff like a shiny IQ Fusion or my older MoJave.

This year in my PBAx league I'm bowling on higher friction synthetics......I've noticed that these lanes tend to like stuff that is cleaner through the front.  I've spent a lot of time on older wood and lower friction synthetics that it's a unique and welcome change bowling in a foreign house where you have to rely a bit more on instinct.  So based on my experience, if I can at least know what I'm bowling on I might pack a more specific bag for it.

If it's a true unknown, I'll just go with a variety of motions and adjust my feet/speed/hand as the lanes tell me to.
