i'm asking your advise
« on: September 30, 2009, 06:39:55 AM »
three weeks ago the center i bowl at got a brand new oiler a kegal this replacing a 30 year old kustodian wick oiler. they decided to put out the easy street shot but its creating more breakdown then the old house shot so they put out 6 patterns and had several differnt people bowl on them to give a veiw of what they think would be better. thing is they picked quite a few low rev bowlers so they all liked easy street where as the bowlers with any type of revs prefered high street and wall street. so heres my question of you all that are familiar with the kegal house shot paterns what is the overall best on for all styles in you opinion

We ran main street last year and many people found it too tough so this year we went to easy street.  A bowler last night was complaining the house was too dry.  He shot 620 on a 150 average!.  For the majority of bowlers easy street is the best pattern.  They want to score well, have a burger and a beer.  I gave the leagues options this year of what patterns they wanted to bowl on and that is what they chose.  We do have a league that uses sports shots without all the overhead for those that wanted a tougher shot.  For four weeks we bowl on the Jr. Gold Cheetah pattern then well will select something else.  We didn't sanction the league and it's a short season league.  Next year we will make it sanctioned and cover all the Sport league bases.

I think what surface the house is should have a great deal to do with what pattern is put out. If you have older wood lanes, your going to want something with alittle more volume compared to synthetic lanes. There are other variables as well, but that one is key.
