Regarding 300's
« on: May 31, 2003, 09:40:50 PM »
Multiple questions here.  How many practice 300's before a sanctioned one for you?  From what I've seen, I think Justin ATX has the corner on the market so far.  For those of you with one sanctioned 300, like me, what breaks did you get in the game, or were they all perfect shots?  And, perhaps more importantly, for those of you with one sanctioned 300, followed by some in practice, how much did it help your confidence level once you finally got the front 11 the next time in league?

"When in doubt, Rip the grips out"

Hmmm.. guess I will have to start learning to rip the grips out too. hehe

Me, just one, all in the pocket.  One or two light sweepers, surprising thing was, got calmer as I got to the 9th.  And was I think in a Zen mood starting the 10th.  Actually, a friend even called out to me as I was addressing the approach on my 11th shot.  I heard him make a sound, but didn't hear the words, just went and executed.  Afterwards, I found myself asking 'is that all'

Reality sank in after two days.

Hammerfan, I think that I know exactly what the "can opener" shot looks like.  Occasionally I'll rip the rack where the rack just seems to split in half, and the pins leave the pindeck sideways standing up.....you get about 5 pins sliding straight to the left wall, and the other 5 pins sliding straight towards the right wall.  The wierd looking thing about the shot is that none of the pins seem to fall or mix.....they just appear to slide straight sideways.

Thanks 10. I see this kind of
strike all to often. Straight
bowlers seem to get it a lot
when their ball goes through the
headpin.
