Okay guys it is official, I won the 2009 City All Events Scratch Championship, which means my 2231 officially broke the city record.  Yes I know the number isn't HUGE, but I am really proud of it.  I've never won anything in my life, besides like team league championships, and I have definitely never set any records, so it's a big deal to me.

Now here is my dilemma/question.  My options for a "prize" were either a spring type jacket and $-25 of prize fund, a sweatshirt and no loss of prize fund, or an extra $25 of prize fund.  I am already getting a jacket for the team championship I won, and was notified today that my jacket will also be embroidered with "Scratch All Events Champion" as well.  So no need for the jacket, and I don't really want the sweatshirt, so I decided to take the extra $25.

Well because this is such a big deal to me, I was thinking about having a ring made from the USBC website.  I don't know if I would wear it all the time, or at all, but I think it would be somewhat cool as an award even if I had to pay for it myself.

What do you guys think?  I'm at like 65%-35% in my head on whether to do it or not.  The cost would be around $100, but I also somehow won an optional scratch singles pot with a 676 (no one got in because the real winner of the tournie shot much bigger than that) which the pot was worth just over $100, which, since in my eyes, was just a bonus, is like free money.

Anyways, I'm on the fence, so let me know what you think.  Cool, not cool, good idea, bad idea...whatever you think let me know.

Not the exact quote I'm sure.. but your post about the ring just makes me laugh inside thinking about Roy Munson and the rubber hand with the state championship ring stuck on one of the rubber fingers.
