YABA Cards, need help
« on: April 12, 2005, 12:22:07 PM »
I am planning to enter state this weekend but have yet to file all the paperwork I need to fit in as a replacement. I need to get a sanctioned YABA card number on the form and have a yaba card at check-in. I registered for one last saturday but can not get it yet and I need it by Friday AT LEAST(if it is forced to come down to that). I had someone tell me about a Temporary YABA card? Would this be acceptable at state? I was caught on short notice and know this question is pretty dumb but if anyone who knows more about these things could tell me, normally how long does it take to get a card ready?(if it is at O'fallon where I registered for it I will go pick it up) Would a temporary card be ok at state and if it is not ready what would be the fastest/best way to get one by saturday. Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I just need to see if someone knows.

But didn't you have to put your sanction number on the application? That is what we have to do....also says you need the card for when you check in but I'm not so sure if they are real big about that.

If you've bowled YABA before, then you can use the sanction number on the previous year's card.

Did you get a receipt when you bought your current card?  If so, you should be able to show that at state as proof that you're a paid member.

I do have my 03-04 card still...I have no idea where the receipt is though so that sort of sucks. I will hopefully get a phone call tomorrow and I can fix this but if not I will need to ask around at O'fallon and see what I can do about this.

Contact your association secretary.  Your association should be able to provide guidance on entry requirements for your State tournament. They can also provide you with a letter verifying membership and proof of current average.  This should be all you need to enter YABA tournaments.   Good luck and bowl well.

If you can't get the Association Secretary, check with the Junior Director where you applied for the card.  The house I coached in kept a copy of all the YABA sanction cards, she also had a list of the sanction card numbers for several seasons.

If you had a card at any time, you can look it up, through Bowl.com, as long as you have the following.....FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, ZIP CODE, BOWL ID #. Here's the link.....

http://members.bowl.com/FindAmember/

Just find your info, print the page out and have your secretary sign it. It's as legal as a card.

When asking for a sanction number that means they simply want my membership number correct? Let me know if I'm wrong.
