This is a spin-off topic of Bones' topic about us being the lucky ones. My question is, how did you come across this site?? How did you find this place of vast knowledge and wonderful people?? Did you stumble onto it randomly, was it referred to you?? Please share.
As for me, I stumbled upon this site a few years back in searching for some "ball reviews" on equipment I was about to purchase. I came here and never left!! I love it here!!
Thanks everyone for making this a wonderful place to be!!

Well, a long time ago my Mom got really drunk... 9 months later, I was born... and 28 years after that, my pro shop guy mentioned the site. I looked it over, and have been here since.

I've been a member of this site since it first started (I was 14 years old then... about 5 years ago now) when the background was dark blue and what not. Lefty Tester was a regular, among others. I actually found out about this site when the "Old" PBA had an advertisement for BallReviews.com, and I've been hooked ever since.
This site has been good to me, especially when Scott Scriver was running it. He happily sponsored my team in the Junior World Team Challenge by giving all of us a BallReviews.com shirt.

A guy on my team told me to check it out. I did and loved it. I'm here all the time now asking for tips, advice, and such. Thanks to all that have helped me out in my quest of becoming a better player.

Yep. Got a chance to buy a cuda 2000 and wanted to find out about it. Did a search on ballreviews, and BAM. What's so bad is I was here two of three times reading reviews before I realized this forum section even existed.

Looking to buy a new ball...looking for reviews...stumbled onto the great forum here.
-
It's funny you ask because I really can't remember...I think I was told about the site by a friend who thought I would like to write reviews. I did like writing the reviews but I never seem to have enough time to get them done quickly anymore...by the time I review a ball it's been out for months and on one cares!

Found this site like Bones did. I was a member of ETEAMZ after I retired from the Army in 99. Someone suggested this site and I've been here ever since.

My wrist brace is just like my RADAR detector, I really don't need it but it sure makes me feel better when I have it on.

My version is much like 9andaWiggle, unfortunately I have to add a lot of years!

Unfortunately for me, I use the site as a place to get ideas and concepts to go out and test just because I'm really not bowling competitively. As my bowling is so interferred with that I haven't been in a tournament for two years! Haven't improved a bit but I love this site.
Note, could improve!

Time passes so fast .. don't know how long I've been here .. as someone mentioned before .. was here a long time before I ventured into FORUM .. Initially, I think someone told me about the site .. now it's the first place I go when signing on!

I first got here via some kind of info regarding virtual tournaments. Don't remember, but I think it was probably BTM.
STarted out just entering the tournaments (remember those???), and participating in the chat room. Ended up spending all my time on the forum.
Still don't care as much for the ball reviews - seems there's no guidelines, no quality control. I'd like that part much better if there was a standard "form" to fill out asking the standard questions of all ball reviewers, followed by a comment section...
But the forum - just ask anyone. If I'm not bowling, I'm probably here. If I'm not here, check back in an hour.

I was told by a lot of my friends that a lot of trash talking had been going on on this website before the Junior World Team Challenge in the youth section. So I came and checked it out, and got hooked.

Well, you see there was this recruiter named Scott Scriver, and he offered me a Gold Membership if I checked his site out! Once I checked it out, I was drafted, and sworn into membership; Gold that is, and the rest is as they say, HISTORY.
I began as Stormfront, and then became Stormy Lane shortly after receiving my official Gold Member status. Once I made the switch to Lane 1 completely, I then converted to the name you all affectionately know me as; Saw Mill. When Scott left, I almost chose to get out, but I decided to reenlist, and make a career out of being a Gold Member. And now you know the "rest" of the story!!

When I stared bowling in 2000 I didn't know what the hell I was doing (not like now, of course
) so I looked to the web for info on how to bowl. I stumbled onto the Eteamz board. I came here when people like Sawbones, 10InThePit, and Mrs.Loco stopped posting there and came here.

I found out about this site when I was looking for ball reviews in the fall of 2003. I put a search through Google and up came this site. I love it and enjoy reading all the posts while I work through my overnights at the hospital switchboard...

Same way I learned about Bowling This Month Magazine...from the alt.sport.bowling newsgroup.

I don't really remember. I probably had one too many Diet Cokes
and decided to look for bowling information and found this place.
I have been to a few gatherings and met several of the posters from here. A great group of people who have given me excuses to get out of CA and travel. Of course with bowling balls in tow

i was told about this site by one of my dads teammates. we were talking about bowling one night and he mentioned this site. i checked it out and took a look at some of the reviews. that was about 3-4 years ago. i read posts on the forum on and off until about a year ago, when i finally decided to register and post. i havent really had the much free time to post until recently though. all i can say is i'm hooked.
-
phatdon told me to ck it out....I came, I saw and i stayed.
I have made a bunch of friends on this site, even though I have never met them. In fact, I have only met SrKegler and I wish i spent more time getting to know that man. I regret that....

I don't remember how I got here, but it was probably from some type of bowling search. I had returned to bowling in 2001 after a 13-year absence, and was looking for tips on equipment, technique, etc. I put this site into my favorites, and have been visiting it daily ever since.

How did I get here? What I want to know is how do I get out?
I am certainly one of the lucky ones that Bones talks about.
I started bowling Sept 2002. I was looking for a ball to buy and thought theres got to be a place on the net that gives you an idea of what to get.
Found this site while looking and Ive never looked back.
Where I bowl people say it takes you many years to improve how much Ive improved over that time.
I feel that I can compete with most people in my county and outside now after this short time. A lot of it thanks to the knowledge gleaned from this site and to my coach.
Also where else can you find such a nice bunch of people.
