HOW DO I APPROACH PATTERN D
« on: November 06, 2004, 07:01:29 AM »
I am bowling in a tournament on sunday that is putting out pattern D.
I am a high rev high speed bowler that uses weak drills to play tighter on the lane.

I have a
v2 solid 1000 grit pin under ring cg slight right
v2 sweet pin over middle cg kicked right
v2 clean pin through ring cg kicked right
ice pin over middle cg in palm
and eraser particle pearl pin over bridge cg kicked right  100 grit abralon

I think D is the stripped pattern with flying backends.

Thus one is usually going to need a lower rg ball with the backend drilled out.
ie hook set, cg out with a good reaction decreasing weighthole on the PAP.

The Vortex 2 or Clean will probably be sweet, while the Sweet may be sour!

You will have to play a defined spot in the heads and all adjustments will hove to go thru that narrow one or two board area at the arrows(2 and 1 moves will find you catching a dry patch in heads).  To combat carrydown you will hit same spot in heads with a right move of feet and to combat flying backends you will hit same spot with a move to the right with feet.

It will almost be like when you used to always throw at 10 and just move your feet around that!
