I'm looking at Rick Lawrence's earnings over the last 4 years. I see that he made 2K in 2000 bowling 17 events. He then averaged 23 grand over the last 3 years. Even being sponsored, how can he survive and feed his family on this. I believe he has 4 children. Does he have an incredible job that supplements the difference for the rest of the year? Does his wife work fulltime to make up the difference? Can you live in Kansas on 20 grand and feed and house your family?
I'm just using him as an example, there are quite a few bowlers who have similar earnings.
I'm just amazed that guys are able to survive on some of the earnings I see on Tour. It's a shame they all aren't better compensated for a sport they love.
