A ball with a pin out is typically thought of as more dynamic and should produce more skid / flip than a ball with a 1" or shorter pin.

The only potential issue with such a pin distance is the amount of top weight versus how far above a person's midline you want the pin.

i'm really just speaking hypothically right now. I found a ball a Freak-a-zoid at a good price with a pin in this range. I'm not well versed in ball drilling and whatnot...just curious as to the limitations and whatnot...

Longer pins usually take longer to get into a roll, but that really depends on the  layout.
