I'm going to start making assorted ball review videos. I know what I would consider to be the most important and/or relevant information, but I was wondering what other people find the most helpful.
First of all, these videos are mainly going to be aimed at my local community. The reason is to provide them information on what we have on the shop that they can view at home to make their decision time quicker and easier and expedite the actual in-shop process as much as possible. Here is how I plan the different videos to go:
For balls we don't stock: A picture of the ball and tech specs will be the only video content, though I'll record my personal review and opinions and explain how the ball will react for strokers, tweeners, and crankers at each of our two different houses, and then expand on what condition(s) that ball would be ideal for in case they're considering it for tournaments. For EVERY video I will also provide several links to other review videos in the description.
For balls we DO stock: I'll sit down with the ball and a tech spec sheet and do just about the same as I would for balls we don't stock, I'll just have the actual ball sitting there so they can see how it differs from the stock photo.
For balls I own: I'll do all the same as the other videos plus include several shots of me throwing the ball.
I know it's hard to know what to suggest being that I haven't put one out yet. With so many review videos already out there, I realize making my own may sound needless, but other pro shop guys should agree that something I/we hear constantly is "well that guy on the video is a cranker," or "sure that ball looks good on the video, they set it up that way," or "I don't think that ball will work for me like it does for the guy in the video." My purpose is to address all these questions specifically for my local community, but if there's anything additional I can add that would make them helpful to a wider range of people, I'd definitely like to do that. Some people still do get a lot out of watching the videos from Buddies, Bowlers Deals, etc, (I know I do) so that's why I'll still be adding links to those videos in the description. Also, I've got buddies and coworkers on staff with various different companies, so even if I'm not throwing the ball I'm going to try to get as many actual reaction videos as I can.
