How does the answer help with a 10 lb ball?

Unless the balls have different rg and differential ratings for the different weights, there should be no differences.

what about for a 2 hander? The pin on my two different gross weights, , both top weight 2.8 , is located in different positions on the ball?

What two balls are we talking about?

What two balls are we talking about?

His two plastic balls most likely.

And I'm going to take a guess here.

That what he really is asking is why do two balls of different weight have different pin to CG measurements?

Because the way he just chucks the ball down the lane, he wouldn't have a defined PAP.

How many holes does your ball have...
2 finger
3 finger
2 finger one weight hole

The TW/CG should be within your grip center... So if you have two balls the same/ish and only a pancake block the question is a big elephant.

I think I have a defined pap because the hold the ball in the same location as i throw the ball down the lane. Does the pin move the same amount per extra pound or may it go up alot from 12 to 13 for example? 2 holes, thumbless

When did you get holes in your ball?

Before you said you didn't have holes and was the worlds only hole-less bowler.

I am holeless but its the same grip as the 2 hole thumb-less but wanted to save the money for the drilling as I release the ball with 1 and a half hands. I did not want to confuse the new threader.

Does anyone have more information on why do two balls of different weight have different pin to CG measurements?

The difference in Pin to CG distance, TW etc. is do to manufacturing process variations.

During the production of a ball there are several steps and all steps have some error.

The error from each step compounds together to alter the CG location and change the top weight and pin distance.

This doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the ball, it just means that every ball will not be exactly the same.

ok.

Pin to cg measurements vary due to manufacturing differences. On plastic/polyester balls, the cg is usually the "heavy" spot on the surface of the ball, and the "pin" is usually just a mold mark where the inner core was held during the pouring process, and might end up nearly anywhere on the ball, depending on the manufacturer.

Pin to cg really only becomes a factor in balls designed with more dynamic cores than a pancake cored plastic/polyester ball.
