What's the best bowling video game?
« on: August 07, 2004, 05:31:07 PM »
What's the best bowling video game you've ever played? I haven't seen any good reviews for a bowling game ever, so I'm pretty curious if there's actually a decent bowling game out there.

The only halfway decent ones are Brunswick Bowling 1 or 2 for PSOne. Other than that everything is stupid and unrealistic. I do like the Simpson's bowling game though. I don't know if it is anywhere other than in an arcade though.

My favorite one is Concrete Bowling for the PC. There is a free temporary demo version that you can download.....I highly recommend checking it out. Very realistic.

ten pin alley-Ps1- pretty real, but remember its not nearly as good as the ps2. it has oil breakdowns real hook and stuff. its a pretty hard game to master. deffinatly a buy with the price of ps1 stuff now!

amf 2004-Xbox- good graphics, i didnt really enjoy it, it was hard but easy. its a  rent if u got xbox, but not a buy.

Brunswick Pro Circuit bowling 1 and 2 for the PS one was the best I believe. I was one of the unfrotunate who bought the AMF bowling game ($10 at Best buy, couldnt pass it up) and it is kinda cool for the looks and how you can "create a ball", but other than that it stinks. Not realistic at all and I think I broke 150 once and that was throwing my "spare" ball striaght at the head pin. Heard a minor rumor there may be a PBA 2004/5 for the major systems this fall, but not for sure.  If EA sports got into it, it would be a great game...

Brunswick World Tournament Of Champions for SNES. If you haven't tryed it I recommend you do, as it has surprisingly realistic physics for a SNES game. The ball selection is good, and it also has a variety of different game modes to play. You can even bowl in a virtual league with Mike Aulby, PB III, and Walter Ray (or many of the pros that are programmed into the game). If you can withstand the older graphics, the gameplay is great.

jeff the chef: funny u should recommend that, cuz I went to a local gamestop about two months ago and saw that used at 40% off for $2.83. It was a great deal. I really enjoy the game a lot, it's just that it gets easy after a while because once u find the spot, u can bowl 300's all night without having to move. But for an snes game, i was definitely very impressed.

My friend has this bowling game that has classic modes like normal, but also has different levels/worlds. Pins with be different shapes, crazy pin arrangements, 8-20 pound balls, etc. It's fun, has realistic pin action and is challenging.

I dont know the friggin name though...

Yeah, it does get a little repetitive.....I think the one day I got lined up and had like 4 300's in a row. It's just not as fun when you don't have to try.
