Title: How hard is it to put down oil?
Post by: jbuzz31 on January 16, 2009, 12:01:43 PM
I mean seriously.  SERIOUSLY. this one house i bowl at normally is usually on the drier side of medium but god****. i had to START tonight crossing 25 boards with my orange warlock and at the end of game 3 i couldnt keep my blue dot out of the nose. and if there trying to save money thats b.s because we pay 9 a week per person for lineage.   theres no reason lanes should be that dry to begin with. and none of the houses around here seem to put down anything below a solid medium pattern.  heaven forbid they get a little wet.anyways just had to get that out. RANT OFF.

oh btw if anyone else has horrible center stories about not oiling feel free to share.

The local house for me that I bowl at never puts out that much oil. Its not bad at the beginning but the main issue is that by the end of the night the shot is hooking a lot thanks to the super strong modern equipment everyone has. I had a long talk with the proprietor and he really put into perspective how the new oil balls that seemingly everyone has that are used on the normal house shot really tear it up.

i did..... i completely flattened my wrist. and it was still going through the nose.

but that also has nothing to do with the fact the lanes were not oiled.  so your saying if i change my wrist position that will cause the house manager to lay down oil?

Alot of houses are using less oil this season, because of the price of lane oil.I've gone back to using equipment I haven't used in years because I couldn't get it to move in the past.As a result my average has gone up since I experimented at the start of the season.Of course a Warlock is a pretty old ball I just reread:A BLUE DOT are you kidding me

Work more on scoring on tougher patterns and less on whining and you'll be okay.
