Title: How In The World...
Post by: JJM on June 14, 2011, 06:40:43 AM
did Bowl.com/USBC get my information wrong?  I haven't looked on the website in quite awhile,  went on to look at my past years averages.
I bowl  two fall leagues, somehow on one of them last year 2010-2011, it had me at 72 games with a 167 average.

This particular league is a mixed league, my team consisting of 3 men and 1 woman.  Ironically the woman on my team has a 167 with 72 games bowled.  I had bowled 84 games averaging 201. I called up the USBC, they asked for my ID # and said no problem, We will delete it and correct it.  I guess I'm wondering, how and from who do they get this information from?

Not really a big deal, but I was kind of surprised, you may just want to check your stats.

By the way, I keyed in the womans name who I bowl with, thinking they switched us up, but she was also listed at 72 games with a167 average.

Sounds like they probably just had a data input error.

If they are still having to manually input the data, and the information they were given was listed by team, it would be easy to see how her information got on your profile by the input operator simply getting on the wrong line while putting it into the system

The error most likely happened at your secretary or local association level.  Most of the USBC data these days are downloaded from local association files rather than being input manually at USBC Hqs.
