300 game in game 1,but no 600 series!

What is your lowest series ever after shooting a 300 in the first game? Or the lowest you have seen someone else shoot.
 About 12 years ago a guy we were bowling against us shoots 300 in game one ,then proceeds to shoot a 586 series.

Don't know the exact numbers, but a guy I used to bowl with/against put a 300 and a 90-something in the same set and finished with around 580. And he's not a hack (multiple scratch tournament winner, has bowled regionals, etc.). In the 90-something game, he had seven splits of all varieties.

read an article some years ago... guy shoots 99,199,299 for 597
