Wow fun thread here.
I must start by agreeing with jls, regarding "regulars" buying their own equipment and "trying to drill" themselves. I drill mine own stuff, but I was taught and learned first. I have a friend that owns a few shops, and he allows me to use the press when I would like as long as I'm not in his way during his business hours. This is a far cry from someone who reads up online and "thinks" they know enough to even toy with the idea of investing in their own drill press, bits and other such equipment.
Do I feel bad for shops, NO. Because when it comes down to it, everyone still goes to the shop at some point in time. Not to mention that I shop that is run probably goes way above and beyond what an online dealer can do. Plus The Stroke is right, in the end you only save $30 at most buying a ball online. So why bother when you can go to a shop and have someone work with you face to face? And I can guarantee that even some of the "bad" shop guys know a heck of a lot more than "you regulars" when it comes to drilling.
Oh and Boos, two final things for you
1. Buddies is the worst example you could have used in referencing and online shop as he is an actual Pro Shop first and foremost.
2. Stop trying to quote what other people said because you clearly have 0 clue how it works, which by my guess, your drilling your own stuff will go as well as you quoting someone on here.
