How many games does your ball actually have?
« on: December 28, 2010, 10:16:32 AM »
I see often a newly released ball has 100+ games. I'm not claiming impossible, but an average full season league has 96-108 games. That's a long time. Are people actually bowling that much, misguessing, or straight up lying. I am a ball whore, I constantly switch unless something is really working well for me. That cuts down on games also. What do you think?

i think 100 games is pretty accurate because a lot of bowlers especially on here bowl more than one league,  they'll go practice with it several times, sometimes they get NBS (New Ball Syndrome) when they throw it in competition, then tournaments, pots, etc. it adds up. I mean i bowl 20-25 games or so it would not be that hard

Entirely possible.  I bowled 14 games of practice last week with my mission and two games yesterday with it.

I bowl 2 winter leagues and try to practice 6 games a week. Each league is 33 weeks, so that is 3 times 33 = 99 games times 2 leagues = 198 games

Add to that 6 practice games times 33 weeks and that is another 198 games, so the total is now 396 games. I use primarly 2 balls most of the time, so that is almost 200 games on each ball.

Then there is the same 2 leagues in the summer of 12 weeks each league, so that is another 72 games not counting practices which is probably 36 games as I don't practice as much in the summer.

To sum it up, that is over 500 games per year, so 100 games on a newly released ball is not unrealistic.

As long as u keep up the maintenance on it, it doesn't matter. I mean every 30 games I take my balls back to box finish, every 120 games I get it resurfaced. So the count starts over after resurfacing.

I bowl 3 days a week, usually 10 games of practice since it's free during lunch on base.  So that's 30 games a week and I pretty much do it every week.  That's not including my one league night and one sub night.
