How many IBPSIA members are on this forum?

Not a member although I did attend the Advanced Class last year in Dallas

The classes are good. Why are you not a member?

No value in me being a member.I am a roofing contractor.I went on Mo's invite to further my knowledge.
-
Ah! Nice invite! It looks like there are no members here anymore?

Smash,
Isn't JohnP a member?
He does now spend most of his time over at BowlingChat.

Charlest,
I am going to look him up and ask. I quit IBPSIA because there was no value in being a member. I asked the woman when she called why I should join and she had no answer. I asked about benefits to being a member and she was dumbfounded. They have a really good president in Lou Marquez. He is a good man and believes but they need work. I am finding the same kind of reactions to USBC coaching. The more I look coaches are not upgrading or even renewing their certs.

Smash,
A woman like that answering the phone for an organization such as what IBPSIA is "supposed" to be is probably the biggest hurdle they have to deal with in the course of events. Maybe it is a sign that they are not fulfilling the role they say they are and should be- too much like the USBC in many parts.

I didn't renew my membership this year and didn't see the value!! I didn't renew my coaching certificate for basically the same reason! I went to the silver class several years ago, but not many people in my area use or are interested in coaches. I'm getting my material out again cause I've become an assistant coach for one of the local high schools!!

I am getting the same response about coaching. There are 6 bronze level coaches where I am at and none of them have any interest of going any further. They are not interested in anything like the summits or continuing ed. I am looking at the coaching summit this year and going why? $300 and the activities look slim. $300 for 3 days of rooms. $250 for travel. Another $250 for food and cabs. I figure $1200 and what do you get of the money. Recovering the money by giving lessons is very hard. I will say the IBPSIA training is fantastic and worth the money but the summits have gotten worse every year. The last few years I went I left disappointed.
