How many people think....

That ball plug color matching is representative of how good of a driller your pro shop guy is?

plug work to me doesn't matter to me, besides a cell with yellow plug always looks good when it blows the rack

My ball driller is a complete artist with plugs. I require him to plug my Twisted Fury and match the Black / Red / Silver to perfectly match the existing swirls exactly. After a 6 months it gets done and I am happy. J/K he can use clear or what ever cause doesn't matter to me.

I agree.  However, I do like to see a good effort.  It is important, but not even close to when it comes to drilling quality.

I would agree with the pride thing. Matching color on a plug job does not mean how good of a driller you are. Myself I like to use someone that will take the time to try to match the plug color as close as possible. To me that means they will take their time to get your pitches correct as well as take time to lay the ball out. The driller that I have will take time to lay a ball out look at it and study it if he does not think it will work well he will lay it out again. Anything the pro shop person does is basicly his business card. Anytime a ball leaves the shop and people look at it they are going to want to know who did it.

on customers their happiness will keep you in business if it is your own stuff make it look like skittles rolling down the lane.  A Radical inferno with pink neon blue and bright green plug looks pretty weird rolling down the lane.

Personally I take a lot of care matching up plug colours... but sometimes the plug just likes to come out darker due to the fact its "buried" in a solid ball!

I think it depends on the color of the ball. Some of mine he missed with the color a little bit. There are others you can barely even tell it was plugged. As far as my preference, I don't care as long as you can't feel it.

I used to be a stickler about color matching. I had a ball done this year with yellow plugging. While it stuck out like a sore thumb,it also gave me a good read on ball motion, and how the ball was reacting. I could use the color as a guide as to how I was throwing the ball.
It really was educational. I'm not sure that I'll do that on every ball, but it was nice to be able to see what was happening.
