Was wonder how many steps most of us really take while bowling? Normally I take 5 steps but I can throw the ball with 3... I have just started watching videos on how to bowl because this transition is alittle stranger than I thought.. The backswing feels really weird because 2 fingers dont fully extend there arm while doing a backswing and each time I feel like i am gong to drop the ball....

Started with 4, then after 20 years or so I changed to 5. Then, after 10 years or so of that, I changed back to 4 for a few years. I recently changed back to 5.

One of these days I'll make up my mind!

I take 4 steps now for the past 6 months. Prior to that I was taking 9-10 steps.

I take 5, have switched back and fourth with 4 steps and 5 steps at times but haven't messed with it in probably 2 years now.

Took 5 for most of my career. After a back injury had to switch to 4.

Same here....my first step is just to get me going and is very short/quick. So i do not start my pushaway until the 3rd step

I take 7 steps. I started this when bowling with the cast on my right foot and it's stuck with me since

Went from 5 steps to 4, slowed down my tempo, my accuracy has improved greatly. It took a little time to get use to the 4 step, Very happy I made the move.
