I cant believe the Storm Hot Wire isnt on the list somewhere.  Talk about versatile...and if I'm not mistaken, it did win a PBA Tournament this year.

I can't believe the Killer Instict made the list, that was perhaps the worst ball I drilled up this year. It was supposed to work on oil and all it did was keep on sliding. The Reloaded was okay, I drilled mine to go too long and didn't like the reaction, but it did hit nice.

As far as I know the Bruiser is not a pearl (it was highly polished; if it were a pearl, it would have been the re-issue of the Fire Quantum in black)) and neither is the Black Cherry Bomb. There were a number of other balls in BTM voting categories that seems ... misplaced.

What's Lane 1 doing in the mid-priced section? That contradicts half of what I've read about them on this site.

Brian, I agree with you on that one.

I can't believe the Lane 1 Golden Nugget and Cranberry made the list and the Uranium didn't. I have yet to hear the first complaint about the Uranium where as there have been a few about the Golden Nugget and nothing but almost all complaints about the Cranberry. I have a Golden Nugget right now with a single plug on the thumb hole to move it back 1/2" that I would sell to the first $75 "shipped" that came along. That's what I think of the Golden Nugget.   I've permantley parked it in the closet. My Uranium "runs circles around it.

I'm surprised that there was one that even made it.

You all are forgetting that this award is for 2003!!!  Most of the balls you're hacked about that didn't make the list are 2004 balls!  However, the Hot Wire is one that definitely should be on there, that's a no-brainer.

I think the ANIMAL should be on the list. The ANIMAL is the hardist hitting ball I have ever owned.
I also think the HAVOC is the best mid priced ball out there. In fact the HAVOC out hooks a lot of high end stuff. It is also a very hard hitting ball almost as much as the ANIMAL.
Personally I think BTM is biased to certain companys. There numbers on there reviews are way off. I mean look they rated the ANIMAL 45 on total hook COME ON!

1. The goodness or badness of a ball is NOT related to how much it hooks for you.

2. These ratings are not related to BTM but to the readers who voted. It is a popularity contest.

3. BTM finds something to like about all balls; they also point out what they found that was not good, TO THEIR TESTERS. That is the point of a review. All testers have their preferences and you have to learn them to understand the review.

Did you vote? You could have voted online, even if you're not a subscriber.

Do people not read anything but the title line before they reply?  I had JUST SAID that most of these balls people are complaining about are THIS YEAR'S EQUIPMENT!  Also, like charlest said, hook rating should mean squat in a ball rating.  Just because it hooks a lot doesn't mean it's a good ball.
