Title: How many times have you done this??

The only time I ever had more than 12 strikes in a row was in a long ago tournament when I had 7 strikes to finish a game and then had the first 6 in the next game.

Why can we do this quite often but cannot string 12 in one game for a 300?

How many times have YOU done this?

I was messing around with some kids a few weeks ago and threw 21 in a row with no 300.  The most when it counts was 18 in a row with no 300.

More times then I can count.

Why?!? Cause there is no pressure doing it that way. Pressure is what causes us to yank it, not release it properly, throw it right (or left for you lefties) of target, etc.

My longest streak was 27 in a row, but that did contain a 300, unfortunately only one.

It's why many 290's are shot with a spare in the first frame and run 'em off the sheet.  No pressure.  I know, I have a few.

Actually, I did this saturday night, while pot bowling after league.  I had a 290 game and ended up throwing 15 straight.  The puzzling thing is that this was on bone dry conditions at 1130 at night, the same ones I shot a 124 on in a 2nd shift league 2 weeks ago.

It's quite a bit easier to throw 12 in a row over two games than to throw a perfect game because you can only start a perfect game in the first frame, but you can start a string of 12 in a row in ANY frame. You have many more chances to do it that way.
