Naw, not cheap just realistic. We generally have 4 seperate brackets (8 bowlers per bracket) at 5 bucks a pop (35 pay out for 1st 5 for 2nd). My teammates get in seperate brackets so we dont bowl against each other. I occasionally get in king of the hill, but lately ive been staying out because its usually a 260+ game thats been taking it and my last games have been low 200's for the last 6 weeks or so. Same thing with high game, its always a 260+ thats taking it. We've got 3 guys in the league with 215+ averages and another 4 or 5 bowling 200 to 210. Im 185 bowler and have been hitting better, but im not in the same league as those guys and i know it. As a team we buy 15 bucks worth of 50/50 and ten bucks worth of lucky strike (5 bucks a guy.) I get in all jackpots with the exception of king of the hill and high game. Occasionally i get in those too, just depends on how i feel.
Might be our jackpot costs are low.
things break out like this
king of hill 5
high game 3
mystery 3
brackets 5 per entry
last special 2
over average 3
strike pot 1
team 50/50 5 bucks per team per week
Like i said, i could bowl more brackets, but it defeats the purpose bowling against my teammates. I dont think we have more brackets just because there are so many high bowlers in the league and most guys are 160 to 170 shooters and know they have no chance.
its a small league - 18 teams, but its a cap league and the scores have been so high that we may have to change our format next year, or some teams may have to drop bowlers, the averages have gotten that high. Kegler, that bracket cost seems high to me, how much does your league charge for brackets, and whats the format?
