Is there a difference?
« on: August 07, 2004, 10:36:34 AM »
i walked into kmart today and they had bowling stuff and the had this ball called the magnum and it was in pearl and the had one sanded and it said it was made by ebonite and have also seen a renegade made by columbia at dunhams, so i was wondering are these balls just like a tornado and white dot? why don't they just sell tornados andwhite dots? are these balls even made in the same factory as all the other balls from columbia and ebonite?

The balls sold at the discount stores are usually low end reactives (sometimes plastic, so you need to try and find out) with a pancake weightblock.  Not a bad ball for a beginning bowler learning to throw a hook, but don't expect too much.  Lots of products are distributed to discount stores with different names.

Quite often they are color blems, or long/short pin blems, and they put a different label on them.
In the 70's, you had Galaxie 300 sold at K mart - they were white dots that didn't quite come out the "right" color.
