How superstitious are you?

I'm generally not too superstitious, but I'm a firm believer in when I'm bowling, phones SHOULD BE OFF!!  That's probably my biggest superstition is taking calls (esp. from the better half) while bowling can cause a break in concentration and a fall in the scores...

I think it bit me in the butt the other night.  
I was out open bowling with a few buddies of mine, I have Strike, Spare, 4 strikes in a row.  3 of the 4 were trip-6's which i hardly EVER get.  anyhow, the fiance calls.
Next three shots, ALL DEAD in the pocket
Solid 9
Solid 8
Solid 7

I think I shot 236 that game, when in all rights I should have been taking a 280 into the 10th frame  and yes, I DID get tapped on that 7 pin!!

No offense, but if you actually think a phone call bothered you that much for at least 3 shots, you really need to realize, sometimes, you just don't get the strike....

I don't have any superstitions, though.

Well, I guess what I could have said was...

Take a Joke.

I NEVER let that crap bother me.

"I live my life 10 frames at a time.  And for that 10 frames, I'm FREE".

Again, i take superstitions with a grain of salt, and can always jokingly blame it on that when i get tapped.

Sorry I don't take bowling so dead seriously I can't joke about it.

Oh God, good, I actually thought you were serious.  Sorry, it's just that, with all the idiots I've seen on here, you never know what to expect next...

Keep in mind, it's never your fault, but the lanes.  Good words to live by.  It is ALWAYS the lane condition holding you back, regardless of those other 6 people on your pair shooting honors scores.  The lane conditions are the cause for everything going wrong.

My superstition - never bowl with people who leave their cell phones turned on during bowling.

I broke that rule twice in the past two years, when the guys' wifes were close to their due date. Otherwise...

Im not superstitious... I want to still be weaing the same socks and underware from when I shot my first 300 game !! (back in 1977).

Wow, good job of making up stuff I never said.  I said that if he thought a cell phone was the cause of his shots being tapped, he should realize that sometimes you just don't get the strike............Tell me exactly where I generalized to all people with superstitions, and where I said they're idiots....

But obviously I can make an exception for you.  Don't make up crap....

Only 'superstitious' about one thing (in both golf and bowling).

For some reason, people want to call it before it happens...

Golf: "Oh that's in" results in the putt lipping out.
Bowling: "Oh that's a strike" results in a solid 10.

It's THEIR FAULT I missed
