Does anyone have any drills or techniques that can be practiced at home?

Just put it out there IBB!!  I'm always practicing my approach/release -- 5 steps, release; 5 steps, release....I was just as bad with my golf swing and now I kind of alternate between.  I also practice my release into the sofa -- as long as the missus isn't watching!!

I would also throw into pillow on rugged floor at couch.

During best bowling period would stand in front of picture window with reflection and rock 10 times into finishing position to build position.

I was very on balance back then.  And it showed in my bowling.

Would do sets

Bent front knee pushed in front of chest!

Those were the single days!

Underhand football toss.

Practice different axis tilts by seeing how the football spirals.

Don't practice by throwing the ball onto a couch though.  Throw it on the floor.  It screwed up my game a ton, and I don't know if I have even fully recovered.  Oh yeah, one thing about just practicing your approach without a ball.  Don't do that a ton, it can mess up your timing since your arm without a ball will swing much faster than with a ball.  Seems obvious but people forget that.  If my with-a-ball approach was as fast as the one without I'd have a 3 step approach.
