Dry Lane Help
« on: May 31, 2009, 01:49:56 PM »
my league house has a tendency to become very very dry. Once the third game rolls around, i have trouble keeping my plastic spare ball on the right side of the head pin while playing in very deep and swinging it. I throw around 17 mph with medium revs on the ball. I have tried hand positions, speed changes etc. Is there anything i can do? (i do notice crankers throwing solids with a high pin do quite well on these dry lanes)

If the crankers are able to find enough head oil to throw solids then you are in the wrong part of the lane.  You need to move deeper and be sure to get your hand around the ball to help it through the heads.

Try using a little loft, or do what i do, I sit on the ground and stare across the lane and look for as much oil as I can and I try to play around that area.

I can't imagine that a league shot would get that dry. The only things I can imagine is your release point is pretty far from your ankle resulting in you not being as deep as you should be for where your standing, and/or your speed is lower than you say, and/or your rev rate may be higher than you think.

Crankers being able to play the pattern really makes me think one of the things I mentioned is right.
