The Phantom and the "Billy Hardwick Thread"
« on: June 28, 2004, 07:37:28 AM »
A few days ago, the Phantom made a post on the Billy Hardwick thread at PBA.com.  The management took offense (no profanity, just the truth) and removed the post.  As a result, at least for now, the Phantom has stopped posting on the PBA boards.  If you have been following this thread, or just want to see the post that was removed, go to the message board at www.bowlersjournal.com.  --  JohnP

One of the BENEFITS of having a MODERATED forum.

NO CLASS at all by PBA.

Thanks for pointing us to the BJI forum; I would never have thought to look there for a copy of the post that was removed.

Phantom's mention of "a phone call" on the (posts deleted) Hardwick thread makes it sound like someone from the PBA called and threatened him.  The truth seems to be that it was a call from Hardwick, complaining of his shabby treatment by the PBA, that had him thinking about not posting any longer.

Jeez, what a slap in the face to the Seniors.  Billy Hardwick shows up at the Tour Trials, and the PBA doesn't even mention it.  What a shame...

seadrive -- As I understand it, it was the PBA's removal of his post (which you can read at the BJ site) that caused The Phantom to voluntarily stop posting on the PBA boards.  While he was upset by "the call" from Billy H., his post was intended to help the PBA realize how shabbily they are treating the active seniors and the "legends".  By the way, the PBA has also removed a couple of my posts, one in support of The Phantom and another pointing the readers of that thread to the BJ site.  --  JohnP

Ok, folks - sounds like it's time to mobilize.
For all of you who have email addresses of bowlers - send out an email with the story of what happened...

Would the appropriate action be to ask all of these folks to post on the pba board in support of the phantom (while simultaneously posting to the BJ forum as well)?

I have an email list of several hundred bowlers. I think I'll put it to use tonight. How about it? Are you with me? The PBA is not only changing things forever, but they're denying their history and their heritage. By denying it, they're taking it away from me, too!!!

We could threaten to start a boycott of watching the PBA TV shows (hit them in the pocketbook) if they continue to censure the Legends.
