How does a RICO drilled ball react?
« on: April 07, 2009, 04:51:18 PM »
I might be getting one. It's actually a little modified. My span is a little over 4 3/4", and the span on the RICO ball is 4 1/2". I don't know how much 1/4" makes when it comes a RICO drilled ball, but I'm guessing not TOO much. The ball is a T-Road Pearl. First, how much will the difference in span affect the reaction and how do you think this normally snappy pearl will react?

My opinion is that you wouldn't notice the difference even if you had the same ball drilled real RICO.  As for how it will react, I think you'll get something that reads the midlane well while still having a good change of direction downlane.  From what I understand this layout will make it react pretty strong.

I actually have a RICO T-Road Pearl.  I've tried it at 2 houses...the first one is a pretty typical THS, and it's not too bad.  It reads the lanes REALLY early, and reacts pretty late.  But once the oil starts to go away from the heads/mids, put it away!  It reacts so early, it's not even worth fighting to try and get it to the pocket.

The other house has a THS but with much more volume of oil...and here it was king. It read the lane a little later than house one, but the move was dynamic.  Very strong, reminds me of my Dimension a lot to be honest.  But, for less oil and pearl, lol.

I need to keep it shined or else it hits DOA and leaves some lovely 8-10's
