hey guys i need a little help, im thinking about dropping ball weights from my current 15# to 14#, with the 15# after the 4th game or so my arm gets real fatigued and the ball feels 10#s heavier, should i drop to the 14, why, why not, thx

Just bought my 2nd 14# ball and have noticed no
difference in carry between my 15# and my 14#.

I'm not saying anyone is "wrong", but my question is if everyones' armswings are as "free" as they are claimed to be, and that they do not "muscle" the ball, how does a 14lb ball fall from the top of the swing and generate more ball speed than a 15 or 16lb ball?

true. a 14# ball wouldn't travel any faster than a 15 or 16 pound rock. BUT, i am willing to bet that free armswingers (like myself) can easily increase the hieght of their backswing. i end up with my arms completely 180* of each other, my free arm pointing at the target and the swing arm up about 10:30 or 11 o clock, my free arm being at 4:30 or 5 o'clock. it looks badass in video , i generate more ballspeed with the 14 than my few 15 pounders...but that is because i encorporate a higher backswing.

heavier objects fall faster I believe...

incorrect. drop a golfball and bowling ball from the same height and until wind drag coefficient takes effect, they will fall at the same rate.

can you rev, heavier objects have more MOMENTUM, they do not fall faster. Everyone muscles the ball to some extent, There is no way that you can bowl without somewhat muscling the ball. Many pro's even muscle the ball a ton, which leads me to believe that people make a bigger deal out of this than it should be.

Back to 14 versus 15, 14's will probably lead to a bit less carry, but if you are tiring after many games, it might increase your scores as you will score better in the later games.

It depends on the person some will gain carry and some will loose carry when dropping in weight.

For me I get better carry with 14.
This may be because of my high entry angle style and the 44' pattern I bowl on.
With 15 I seem to leave alot of 9s and ringing tens because the ball doesn't deflect enough due to my high entry angle.
