Title: How to Bake a Ball??
Post by: Klugh on May 21, 2004, 04:33:26 AM
Can someone please give me detailed instructions on how to bake the oil out of a ball?  I'd really like to know as I am planning on doing this to one of my balls, as it continously oozes oil during the summer.  LMK. Thanks in advance for the help, Klugh.

Get it as hot as you can stand it out of the tub, PUT SOMTHING IN THE HOLES...... It would be easier if you took it to a pro shop for HookAgain Treatment, it restores the ball 99.8%

What do you mean? Something in the holes? And do I need to take out inserts and the thumbslug?

Klugh, forget the baking.  Forget paying for a Hook Again treatment.  Forget hot water and soap.  Get a bucket and a 10# bag of kitty litter.  Put tape over all holes in the ball and then put the ball in a bucket.  Pour the litter over the ball and let it sit for 3-5 days.  It's safe, easy, cheap, and it works wonders.  I've been doing it for years now.

if you do a water thing with the ball...i use silly puddy to cover up the holes...when it cools off it comes off easily off the ball....but my roommate has a 5 pound block of it so thats why i have enough to do it.
