Don''t turn league night into practice!
« on: April 03, 2010, 01:48:31 AM »
Hi All,
I recently wrote an article about this topic.  Sometimes it can be pretty easy to go from a competitive situation to a practice situation depending on what you are thinking about.
Simple premise is that thinking about the shot and making adjustments are good, thinking about your physical game is bad.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

Heres what i think.

I think its not very nice to waltz in to a forum, start a thread on something, say u have an article, NOT post it but link it to your own site.

I have to admit BR is not a heavily moderated forum, but its up to us to do whats morally right.

How would you feel if u own a pro shop and then have someone coming in, mingling with your customers and tell them there is a good deal at the trunk of his car. And all they have to do is to follow him?

There you go, here what i think.

What about the others?

I totally agree with what you both said.

How about what my league did this past Thursday? My team is tied for first place and the next 5 teams are only separated by a point. Our league decides to just out of the blue, throw down the Shark pattern with out informing anyone. Luckily the guy on my team is also the pro shop guy and a few of us including myself have some experince on the shot, but for the rest, it was an all out wash night. Most people complained and moaned and lost a lot of points, but fortunately we won all.

Any comments?

It's a forum, it's under miscellaneous, so who cares. People post crap all the time about news articles with links to articles or vids and go into discussions about it. This is no different except it is bowling and not politics, or polls, or celebrities.

Go ahead and see all of the post under non-bowling related miscellaneous and start complaining about them as well.

In reference to the article it wasn't bad. For me, when bowling I try to not think about anything during the delivery except for what I'm looking at and my timing.

Its better to post an article. Because a response to that article will always be there. A thread like this is forgotten in a week.

That is because I have too much free time and read about bowling on bowling forums.

I need more fantasy sports or better tv to watch.
