how to counter this?
« on: February 24, 2010, 02:01:07 PM »
let me put a situation here and let's see what would be the best answer

condition: house shot, short and light pattern, no much hold inside and outside burns too much for the ball to come back, league high average is not more than 220

teammate characteristics: lots of sideroll and speed, ball hooking at most 5 boards

situation, teammate using a strong dull ball straight and tight to the pocket, lets assume typical bowler down and in at the second arrow, after 15 mins of practice plus and game and a half, shot missing inside leaves designed ones, missing outside is washout. assuming that the current line im playing is 15 to 8.

what would you do?

obviously im not talking about the best answer "dont miss"
--------------------
When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

lol, the answer should be how i adjust myself, not getting into a fight with a teammate

If they're playing down 10th... why not look for something in and around 5th board, seeing as that's where I'd expect the best look on a short pattern.

Why would he be using a dull ball on a short lite pattern. Why not something designed for a drier shot. Seems like he could create some area with a ball better designed for that, versus a ball that is burning up if he misses outside. Maybe something tamer with polish would give him a better look!
