Problem with a plugged fingerhole
« on: February 18, 2007, 11:43:10 PM »
Hi folks!

I got a ball back last winter filled and redrilled... at that moment everything went smooth...

I changed style and bot my PAP to another point... now the ball runs over that plug and it clatters and rattles down the lane... why? cause the üproshp guy didn't do the grinding and abrasion good enough so the plug ist standing up a bit building a small knopp... nothing big... just about half a mm... but I can feel it and I can hear it.

So my question...
Do I have to take it back to the proshop? (he will do it again... but I want to keep the ball's surface as it is)

Or is there a way to do it myself with a good result?

it isn't that big of a thing but I guess it won't do any good for the ball neither the lanes... and it is really annoying hearing the ball bumping donw the lane... I also might get the picture it lost bit of reaction... but that might be just a illusion.

If you can hear it thumping from the plug, he did a lousy job.  If it skips, even slightly, the ball isn't reading the lane as good as it should.  I would take it back to him and explain what it is doing.  He'll probably take a rasp to the plug to file it down a bit, then resurface it on a Haus machine to make sure it's round.
