how to get the most ball for the least money?
« on: February 16, 2004, 03:24:21 AM »
i want a new ball that hooks a ton and has backend. not a ball that just cuts through oil but one that also snaps back to the pocket. i was considering the balls within the last year or so and i cant decide. i looked at the big companies newer "hook" balls like tracks animal, ebonite killer instinct and brunswicks ultimate inferno. all these balls run me atleast 180 drilled and im lookin to spend 125-150 but still get that strong ball. but if these 3 or any other expensive ball is that much better i'll pay the extra, i just dont know which one. any help thanks a bunch!
lets face it... this isnt deadlifting or picking up women.. its BOWLING!!!! Stop acting tough when you roll 4 strikes in a row!!!

A couple of "mid-priced" balls that I know of that are successful around here are:

V2 Solid
Blade Reactive
Pioneer
Silver Streak Solid/Pearl
Flash Point

All of these balls are reactive, mid price and can be drilled to be very aggressive on the backend.

If you can get a Killer Instinct/Ultimate Inferno for 180.....I must be living in the wrong place. Both of those go for 240 here.

From what I have seen, the blade reactive seems to be one of the best balls around, low price or not.  Other than that, Robert Smith makes the storm eraser boost look damn good on the lanes.

Yeah, geez, where on earth do you get stuff that cheap?  Either the owner's a rich retired guy, or the cost of living is lower.  Unless you're talking before grips and a slug, then I might believe it, maybe.  I'd second the Boost, it's AWESOME.  The Hot Wire's actually a great ball too.

Bide your time and shop around. The most i have ever paid for a ball non-distributor is $125. Drilling from local shop = $20-$30

I have bought Inferno's,X-factors,few Buzzsaws and countless others NIB with good specs. If your willing to wait a month or so and shop you can save some big money.

The most expensive ball i bought was the Blueberry Buzzsaw at $125. The best deals I have found El Nino2000 at $65 and a Buzzsaw LRG for $73 NIB. Again these deals are with good pins and tops not 4-5 or 0-1 pins with 4+ top.
An Animal went yesterday for $99 delivered on one of the bowling sites auctions.
