alot of pain on the side of my thumb need suggestions

Im a righty and lately i have been having alot of pain in my thumb. the pain is on the left side of thumb nail. ive tried correcting my release and using tape to snug up the hole and it still hurts pretty bad. im beginning to think its a drilling problem but whenever i talk to my pro shop he doesnt know what to do about it. any body else ever had the same problem, or have any suggestions?

thats what i have been reading up on. but i talked to my drill guy and figured he should know what to do since hes in the business but he had to ideas. do you think its too forward or too reverse?

Check the pitches like everyone else suggest.  Also drill bits are round, thumbs are not.  Tape is not always the answer.  Working your thumb hole out properly may be the answer.
