Cloverlanes, back in the late '60's was a part of a chain of eleven bowling centers that was operated by Great Lakes Recreation.  Centers that were part of the chain included: Great Lakes (in Detroit), Southlanes, Northlanes, Yorba Linda Lanes (Royal Oak), Bowlerama, Fairlanes, Yspi-Arbor, Cloverlanes, Panarama (Flint), Thunderbird (Ypsi) and Strike N Spare Lanes.

I was thinking it's just another house, but after reading the article, it's really sad for those affected by the closure. The history alone, even more...
Does a round object have sides? I say yes, pizza has triangles..

Its an damn shame. I must have drove past Cloverlanes 1000 times when I lived up that way. I wasn't into bowling then, living there, but awhile ago I made a list of places I wanted to check out when I was up there visiting family. It was on the top of my list, that double dome! There are more on my list in Wayne County, hopefully time will allow me to complete some of the list. The south side of 96 has been building up over the last couple years. To me it is just more traffic. I am glad I made the move to the southern part of the state 10 years ago! Still would have liked to experience that place.

Yeah this is a shame. I thought Detroit was a place where a lot of Bowlers bowl leagues?
