sweet particle covers...
« on: February 17, 2005, 02:41:57 AM »
Which particle covers are your favorite?

last night in league, I was all over the place...a little outside and the ball would jum at the arrows, move inside and couldn't make it back to the hole.  Inside and swing the bal out... and it would hang just enough not to get back flush...  just one of those nights...  I pulled out a raging inferno (freshly cleaned up with a green scotch-brite pad..so it was actually dull), and played straight up 13...  inside it would sit a little and outside it would just bump a little bringing it back online.  shot 276...  smooth roll, no over reaction, and great hit... I have to vote to activator particle!

my vote is for cut-throat. The saw blade and real deal look absolutely rediculous on the lane!

I'll agree with Activator Particle, but my all-time favorite is TEC2 particle.  I know many people complain of TEC death, but my Rock Star is still kicking after several hundred games logged on it.

yeah, I would agree... I think you could have the best cover in the world, but with the wrong core, it would only seem average.  Glad to hear you like the goliath (I have one on order).  I was looking for osmething smooth..even out the touchy patterns...  I am thinking about a 4X2 layout with pin above the fingers...  How is your drilled Bob?

thanks,

what can I say, I love the WOW2 coverstock on my mutant, but I also love the core, so it may be partially the core.  On the other hand I have loved all the TEC coverstocks from columbia (haven't tried MegaTec).  I have an original Rock that went thru the supposed Tec Death.  almost gave up hope on the ball.  set it outside in the sun and just let it bake for a while.  then took some green scotchbrite and hand brited it for a couple minutes.  that ball is INSANE now.  it hooks just as much if not more than my Mutant, and the hit, o the hit, amazing.  Loved my extreme Chaos too.  first ball I rolled 300 with, and that was after tec death too.
