How would my house be classified?
« on: November 25, 2008, 05:27:56 AM »
One of my "home houses" is a 36-Lane establishment with probably your average number of leagues per night/per week.

We are currently at 7-800's and 13-300's in the house since the beginning of the season, all leagues accounted for.  I'd say we were just like any other house.  We have our very good bowlers [of which I'm not] and we have some very bad bowlers [of which I sometimes am ].

So where would these 300/800 tallies classify my house?  Would it be considered "normal", "high scoring", "below average".

I'm very curious as to your houses out there.

High scoring, just like 97% of all the other bowling alleys in the United States.

I'm not sure. I bowl in two different houses...

1) 800's-0, 300's-3
2) 800's-2, 300's-4

A bowling alley in my area though that's knows as a cake shot has i think 13 800's and i think 22 300's. the first week alone they had 4 8's and 5 3's.

Our house only has (1) 800 and (1) 300 for the year. Our house hasn't given up very many since its been around.

We just bought a new Kegel lane machine and the first night we used it had a 279 shot.  Within a week we had a 299.  So far there have been a bunch of 240 to 260 games but nothing above that.  Our normal league bowlers are not the power league bowlers you have in some houses but are still fairly good.  13 300's seems to be a lot.  The center we were at in Texas last year high average was 199.  I shot 700 in May and no one did it again until October.  Neither center would be called a typical center but the shot in Duncan is sweet.  Irving is still Irving unfortunately.

Curious....as there is no mention of the amount of different people shooting those high scores!!

If the house has 10 800s already and they are shot by 2 people, how would that be considered an easy house??  It might be for those 2 people, but that's it.

The house I bowl in only has 2 700's through 11 weeks and I have the high game of 279.  Granted we only have a 13 team league but there are some good bowlers in it.  The house down the road already had a 878 this year, it's a joke.  The houses are notorious for having a 20 pin difference in average.

Scoring is down for our association this season.  About 10-11 perfect games and no 800's yet(I think).

I think only six 300's and maybe three 800's this year at my house. But I will also say that this house is probably the worst carrying house in the DFW metroplex.

In my local house, of all 8+ leagues there's ~5 300s, a 299, and a 298 so far this season.  No 800s to my knowledge.  Modified THS so I guess we're average.

Is the ease of the pattern estimated by the number of games over 290 or the ability to hit the pocket on errant shots wide or in from the target?
