Pin-Targeter: iPhone App for a more accurate shot
« on: May 25, 2011, 09:41:31 PM »
Hi all,

Just want to share with you all an app I created. It's called Pin-Targeter and its supposed to show you the lines required to hit a particular shot. You can see the simulation of the ball running thru the pin-deck as well.

It is in its initial version so might be rough on many edges but I hope to get some feedback on how to make it better. It cost $1.99 and its on the Apple App Store now.

Give me some opinion in what you would like to see on an App like this and hopefully I can incorporate it into the next release. I will give out promo codes to the first 3 who give me valuable suggestions.

Happy Bowling!~

I looked at it briefly and I didn't see a screen where it can support both left and right handers.  I assume it can because it should have been very easy to incorporate that.

I have an Iphone 3GS.  A promo code would be nice.

Some bowling centers do not have speed calculators.  By using the timer in the clock function a person could clock the time the ball at release until it hits the pins and enter that time into the application to determine the speed of ball  In fact, if there was a way to integrate the timer with that function in the pin-targeter that would be even better.  With some add ons you may be able to ask for a little more at the app store.

Can you port the app so that it works on the Andriod platform as well?

Will look at the timer part. Shouldnt be too tough. But android port will be tough sice im an indie developer.

Send you the promo code once i get back from the coaching clinic.
Cheers!~

If you think its any good, don't mind helping me introduce it to some of your mates at the bowling alley you go to~ Of course, if you think its any good! Don't want to give you a bad name for trying to sell lousy ware to others~

Good bowling~

I didn't use the promo code.  I went ahead and purchased it.  I will give the promo code to a friend and let him try it out.  Do you need to do anything on the app store side for this to work?

when I roll some balls today I will see what the accuracy is like. I can think of some variations but adding them is likely asking too much of an app.

I wonder if adding some common spare leaves and based on the angles inputted how the ball might hit the pins would be something useful to people.

I'd like to say a big thank-you for buying the app~

But do use that promo-code fast since someone may have used it.

Ver1.1 should be out within the next few days (once Apple finished with their reviewing...) so keep a lookout for it~

Cheers

Suggestion:  If you're going to give out promo codes that you don't want someone other than the person intended to use send them by PM.  I don't have an iPhone, so am not interested in a code for myself.  --  JohnP

Yeah... realised it wasn't a private message only after I posted that up.

Thanks for the advice!

Android... Definitely not the first comment I got today with regards to the Android. Wish I can do a job coping with developing on both platforms but I will probably be sacrificing somewhere if I do so.

Still I hope that it will be a reality. When that day comes I will keep you all posted~

Cheers
