Hard Decision
« on: October 12, 2016, 07:18:23 PM »
The Primal Fear dropped and I said boom getting it. Then the Scandal Pearl and Inception Pearl dropped and now I'm conflicted. Thoughts or opinions on these balls? Any chance two of them could work in the same bag and make sense?

I think the Primal Fear is going to be a better version of the Primal Rage, so probably more of a backend beast than the Scandal Pearl or Inception Pearl. It should fit in the same bag with either of those two.

Scandal Pearl is probably earlier than the Inception Pearl, but the biggest difference between the two is they are symmetric and asymmetric respectively. Generally I don't put a ton of emphasis on that but with the Inception Pearl's core coming in with a .024 intermediate differential that is a significant gap. Depends on how well you match up to asymmetrics in that range.

Personally I would go with the Primal Fear first and if another one was wanted then the Scandal Pearl. Seems like there would be less overlap between the two.

Thanks Coor! I really don't know how well I match-up with asymmetrics as the last one I had was an x-factor trifecta. My style has changed since then as that was a bad purchase in youth league and it was too much ball.

Would any of them make sense for a sport shot and if so which would be best suited?

There is no way of knowing exactly how one ball will match up to a particular pattern as there are just too many variables in play. Now, with that being said, we can make generalizations about "should/should not" or is "likely/unlikely" to work on given patterns. Still, in the end, it comes down to matching ball (coverstock type, core strength, layout, and coverstock prep) to bowler (speed, revs, tilt, accuracy) to lane conditions (pattern, type of machine putting it out, type of conditioner, and lane surface).

Get the one that looks the coolest I guess :P
Either the Scandal or the Primal Fear imo. That 900 Global ball looked ugly.
I'm sure they'll perform basically the same way.
Most used:
Motiv Venom Shock (14)
DV8 Grudge Hybrid (14)
Hammer Scandal (14)
DV8 Freakshow (14)

Sometimes.
C300 Swerve (14)
Motiv Jackal LE (14)

Retired:
Roto Grip Sinister (13)
Motiv Jackal (14)

Given to a no-thumber in the club:
Brunswick T-zone (13)

Might stick with Motiv from now on.
