Well, sounds like an air pocket.
Step one would/could be to see if the ball could be deemed defective by the manufacturer, in which case you would get a new ball. Might be a good idea since there could be more air pockets which could affect performance.
Step two would be to plug the ball and redrill it. The plug would fill the void, and when you drill it out it would be like new.
