Humble Pie - anyone for a slice?
« on: September 22, 2004, 02:59:34 PM »
First night of sport league tonight.  Shot the big ol' 460.

Humble pie never tasted so bitter.

First time I bowled on a sport shot in a sport league was Sunday.  I shot an even bigger 415.  That was the hardest thing for me to come over considering I average 198 at my house league with a THS.  Made me realize there are a lot of other GREAT bowlers, and spares are probably the most important part of the game.

Humble pie for me would be shooting 687 in my Monday night league 2 weeks ago and going into my Tuesday night house and shooting 489. In one league I was 3rd high and in the other league I was 4th high.

It's what I love about bowling. Unpredictable...

I’ve eaten my share, particularly at nationals.

I’m a hack,
Just a lonely hack,
But I keep on coming back.

Pinbuster: Yes, nationals can be very humbling. I think I averaged 160 for 9 games when I went to my lone national tournament in Salt Lake City, Utah and that was with a 550 in the team event (my first event). I know my low series was a 420 in doubles...
