Title: Huntsville, AL bowling center consumed by fire
Post by: Ratt_bowling on March 11, 2015, 06:33:38 AM
Saturday morning started with several friends messaging me that one of our local boing centers was on fire and unfortunately the fire was too powerful for the firefighters to control.  The entire place was consumed.  Here is a link to some pictures of the remains that the newspaper posted this morning:

Huntsville also has another bowling center closing at the end of April.  It has been bought by the Acura dealership next door to expand their lot.  League formations will be very interesting this fall.

I am FB friends with the manager of the 2 AMF houses there. They have managed to combine leagues to finish the year.

With losing the other bowling center, I hope AMF chooses to rebuild.

Isn't PIN Palace still there as well? I know Playmor closes this month.

was a little worried there was damage when I saw that AMF sign in the first picture and breathed a sigh of relief that the facility appears to be up to normal AMF standards...

What?  Too soon?

C'mon man...y'all knew SOMEONE was going there :D

We still have AMF Pin Palace, the Madison Bowling Center, and if you can get on base there are the lanes in Redstone Arsenal.  A little further away is an AMF house in Decatur, AL.

I bowled at Plamor exclusively for about 10 years. Then went to pin palace for a few years and that was not a good experience at all. In two years they went through 3 different center Mangers.  My only experience at Parkway Lanes was a few tournaments I bowled there and some occasional open bowling.

Its a shame Plamor is closing because in Huntsville proper, its the only IOO bowling alley. Madison lanes is as well, but for me, who lives in Huntsville, is a little too far. That, and I don't care that much for the house. Its pretty ran down IMHO.

I came into Huntsville about 8am that morning and there was black smoke/blue smoke everywhere in the city. It was pretty thick, and I was about 5 miles away from the bowling alley at Home depot.
