My girlfriend wants a 400A and already has a hyroad drilled strong and smooth.. For anyone who has owned or seen both, how would they compare? She needs something for broken down lanes that gets downlane easily and gives her a little pop in the backend. Thinking it'll give her a good complement to the hy-road if drilled properly but just looking for a bit more validation. Or would it be better to just drill a new hyroad a bit differently? Thanks!

I think the 400A hooks less than the Hyroad, I think the Hyroad will handle oil better, and the 400A is better suited for medium to some dry lanes. 400A will be cleaner through the front, unless you shine the Hyroad, but even then, I think the Hyroad will hook more. I like my 400A and want to drill another, but don't think it is as strong as the Hyroad for oil.

Mike,
Great to hear from you again. Glad you have the time to visit us and pass on your experienced comments. Well said about the comparison.

great, she definitely needs something that's better in lighter oil than the hyroad. thanks for the input

Honestly, I think she would be better off with a 300a, vs the 400a... the 400a is a solid cover vs the pearl 300a.. the difference between my two is a world of difference

Hyroad is much stronger than 400a. My experience shows cover on 400a is quite sensitive to oil carrydown.
I'd go Roto Grip Uproar all day hands down!!!
