i was reading a review of a ball, and the person posting stated (he was reviewing a pearl ball) that he was suprised because he had not had a pearlized ball carry that well in a long time.
so the question would be, i understand the differences between a pearl and a solid, and then a hybrid (and the differences in how much hybrid the hybrid is) but will one type carry better than the others?
understanding that entry angle is the key to striking, i would generally say that a pearl has more backend, and a solid reads sooner. is one better than the other for creating the ultimate entry angle?
and no i do not need lessons or anything, i bowl in a three leagues a year, tourny bowl, and such and carry a good average, just a philosophical question i never really thought much about and wondered what others think

With all the dull pearls and the polished solids AND hybrids, you can no longer say a pearl has more backend than a solid. Add drillings and surface grit levels both with and without abrasive and non-abrasive polishes and it's a whole new world out there.
