A bowling-related Mommy Brag :D
« on: February 12, 2005, 10:58:21 AM »
OHMIGOD, my daughter won a tournament today!

She is now the 2005 Michigan State High School Jr. Varsity Singles Champion. She beat out 95 other Jr. Varsity bowlers to win the title.  I am WAAAY too geeked over this

She averaged 165 for 9 games.  Her low game was 136, and her high two games were 193 and 216.  In the title match, she tied her opponent.  In the two-frame roll-off, she went 9-spare, strike 9-open.  Her opponent went 9-open, then doubled and left a 10 pin on the fill shot, and my daughter won by ONE pin.  YEESH.

I could hardly type at work yesterday, because Mr. White Dot (Hi Jeff!) kept calling me with play-by-play updates.

Today she's got 13 Baker games with her teammates.  I think she'll be pretty tired by the time she's done

Her winter break from school is this week, so I think she'll be sleeping late on Monday

The hardest times for me has been in the crowd support my daughter and son while they were competing. And it only gets worse when they have the chance to step up and win. This is harder than bowling yourself.

Congrats to your daughter.
