I realized tonight that, in my quest for a better Rev rate, I have screwed up everything else about my game. I am muscling the ball WAY too much. I am in pretty good shape strength wise and am a manual labor guy, but I am muscling ball so much that I am tired after three games. I can bail hay all day and not be the slightest bit tired, so I know I am really screwed up. Any tips on how to get back to not muscling it?

Go back to the basics. Let the ball do the work and trust it

+1 Bowling is all about the basics, and simplicity, it has to mainly be natural, and everything else will take care of itself.
-
It's easy to do, especially when the lanes dry out a little bit it's natural to move in a little and try to rip the cover off the ball….. Even though there is friction down lane that will make the ball hook without any extra work.
Whenever I catch myself trying to rip the cover off the ball I change the way I visualize what I'm wanting to do. Instead of focusing on revs I focus on rotation.
I want to get around the ball and put a good rotation on the ball. It helps relax the arm and just focus on getting it off the hand clean. Makes a huge difference for me.

Don't give up and be patient. When I returned to the game over 15 years ago or so, I was under 250 rpms. And through coaching and proper fitting over the years, I slowly increased it. Then being stuck on 300+/- for years, I wanted to up it up again. It was a rougher experience this time around. I injured myself (wrist) in the process and forced it along the way doing it on my own.
The injury was a blessing in a way, somehow, along with seeing Mark Baker and countless practices with video, I slowly increased my revrate by doing less. I minimized my approach with less unnecessary movements which MB pointed out and JustRico also adjusted my grip. I worked on repeating my approach, being aware of my hand at release, and even added a little "whip appeal" as I let go the ball.
My speed didn't suffer in the process. With increased RPM's, my speed is still 16.5 average down lane. Also, through this process I can control my speed ranging from 15 to 18 mph. With my revrate, I'm still learning to control it with repeatability without being fluffy lol.
BUT LET ME TELL YOU THIS, there can be a down side.......
Because this increased rev rate of mine is fairly new to me, learning this in the last 3 years or so, and getting it down this year........ I have found myself to be trap more often between the sprayers and straighter players. Tweener hell. But when I'm on line, it's a thing of beauty.

I honestly feel like I have lost all the basics at this point. Does anyone have any at home drills or anything I can try before I go to league on Tuesday? Anything will help out think

This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fo29U0iXd8 helped me figure out some things. Hope it helps.

Im in the same boat - been muscling the swing and grip for years
Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals is the only way you will fix this
And it won't come quickly, a good coach and some video will help tremendously
You must practice the proper techniques to be better for the long haul
this will be a process if your serious about getting better
Only you know what level of being better means for you
like anything in life, you gotta work for it.........

A high rev rate isn't as all sunshine and rainbows. You have now introduced a new downside to your game as well ... over/under reactions on more conditions.

I tell you what, I got my grip refit to reduce grip pressure and keep my hand behind the ball and it was such a change for a few weeks (bowling a lot of that time) every time i'd bowl my focus was just cleanly getting the ball off my hand and nothing else. The end product was better ball roll and increased rev rate because I was cleaner at the bottom, just one of those by products of relaxing and freeing up.

This might seem unbelievable, but I started out the might barely muscling the ball, or so I felt. I just fell into the natural rhythm I worked to achieve over the summer. It was like welcoming an old friend back. I am not sure of how much of a hit my rev rate took, but it wasn't huge. My accuracy came back which was a huge plus as the shot tonight had a huge out of bounds beyond the 10 board. After everything came together I ended up shooting 623 for the night which was decent considering the amount of buckets I left and chopped because of the out of bounds

Let the ball do the work.

681 last night. My shot fell apart in the third game and I didn't find it until the 10th frame, otherwise I would have had 700. Everything feels effortless now. After last night, I would venture to say everything feels better than it ever has

When I start muscling the ball I notice that my armswing is shorter. I then focus on getting my arm further back in the swing. For me this makes a big difference.
