Possibly a high hit, but more likely the result of light-flush. Being right handed, the ball will come in light flush and the following chain of events occurs:
- the headpin goes to the sidewall and flies back across the deck without touching anything in the back row except maybe the 10.
- the ball pushes the 3-pin into the 5 pin and those two pins blow into the 8-pin with the ball following.
- the 2-pin falls straight back, barely clipped by the sailing headpin. It rubs the four, which falls into the channel without touching the 7
There could be variations on this theme, of course, but seeing such a shot in my mind, I think this is how it would play out.
The fix is simple. Move 1/2 - 1 board right. Throw an arc-prone ball rather than a stronger angular ball.
