LeftyCranker,

Everyone knows that when you bowl handicap leagues, the better team doesn't always win.  The point of handicap leagues is to help balance the teams.
Give them some credit, they bowled well.  It just sucks when they do it against you.

Like last night, a guy that I bowled, a 202 average bowler, shot 727 against me, just strike after strike, couldn't miss.  He's a good steady bowler, but didn't expect him to go infuago.  I shot 664, and had to work for that, but I kept him  going.  At the end, he came up to me, and said that I bowled great, and he couldnt stop striking or else he would of lost. Great sportsmanship!

Everyone wants to win, but dont expect to just walk over everyone.  A winner will lose once in a while, mabey more than expected.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  I bowled against a guy tonight (he's a good friend though . . ) and no offense to him, but he was spraying it all over the place and somewhere between the trip 4's (along with 10's and 7's a couple times) and carried 10's, not to mention the 3 brooklyns in the last game alone, he shoots 690.  I bowled the best I've bowled in MONTHS tonight and shot 619.  Had some bad carry and missed too many easy spares, (I missed 4 10 pins, I didn't miss that many of those last YEAR) so most of it was my fault, but I bowled very noticeably better, and still was dramatically outscored.  I just wish everybody had to bowl on reverse blocks or something, I'm tired of trying to learn how to spray and pray, the lack of talent or skill it requires disgusts me.  I wanna see a bad score when I deserve it.

HAH!  I don't know ANYBODY now!

Being in adult leagues teaches you many things.

1.  You're not on top anymore, but there are a lot more people that suck worse than you do now.

2.  The myth about the youths having an easier shot is NOT TRUE.  I'd have an entire ring collection if it was.

3.  Drunk adults are a lot funnier than drunk youths.

I finally figured out how to score well on a wall. Heres what you do. Get lined up in practice and then just miss on purpose. Yes miss whatever line you found in practice, if playing 15, hit 14, or 13, or 16. Whatever you do, don't hit 15.

I think another point is missed.....They stepped up to the challenge.

It was probably not lost on the them that you guys are one of the better (or best) teams in the league.

This happens all of the time in almost any sport, when a team that isn't so hot meets up with a group of superstars, the mysterious power of the underdog can sometimes be seen.

Bottom line, along with a little luck, they played up to your level. In a handicap league, that usually spells a loss for the "better" team.

If you guys really are that good, then this loss shouldn't have affected you at all & you instead would have been happy with how well your team shot.

It's happened only once in my 15 years of bowling that the best bowlers in the league don't end up in first. You should have nothing to worry about.

i'm happy our team bowled well, we finally put a great set together. I'm sure the prospect of losing to a bunch of kids whom not one is over 21 isn't appealing to most teams either. The team shot well im not taking anything away from them at all, they kept up with us and we have a 100 pin higher team average. We all shot over our averages each game and we still got the snot beat out of us scratch. It just sucks is all.

Just when you think you hit rock bottom, someone is always there to throw you a shovel, and that was tonight.

Hopefully next week we can keep it up and catch a break or two.

btw im left handed the crying rule doesn't apply to me its all we know how to do

Many people underestimate people and their potential.  The guy I was matched up against last Thursday shot 299 on a 160 average last season. When I bowl people like that I will not let up on them and will try to beat them senseless.  Nothing mean or bad sportsmanship here.  I just know that they are capable of doing that at anytime.  If I let up that's when it happens.   Makes them work harder and the competition that much better.  I tell my teammates to do the same thing.  It's a matter of respecting their capabilities.
